Macao International Carbon Emission Exchange

Macao International Carbon Emission Exchange (hereinafter referred to as “MEX”) has been officially launched on October 30, 2024. It is an environmental finance trading platform initiated by the leading international investment institution, Yunfeng Capital. MEX aims to connect global climate-related products and opportunities through advanced information technology and product standards, providing innovative solutions for China’s integration into the international environmental finance market. Upholding the core values of “standardization, transparency, and efficiency,” MEX envisions “gathering global environmental factors and providing net-zero development opportunities,”while its mission is to “serve the national ‘dual-carbon’ goals and build bridges for climate cooperation between China and foreign countries.” Leveraging its unique position as a connector of Portuguese-speaking countries across four continents, MEX builds an international climate finance cooperation bridge that serves both domestic and global markets. Through this bridge, MEX empowers enterprises, investors, and project parties in the global value chain to understand and engage in the environmental finance market, offering selection, trading, custody, settlement, and offsetting services for environmental products such as sustainable development performance carbon credits and green energy certificates. Additionally, MEX connects domestic and international green industries and capital, creating convenient and interconnected channels for cross-border green asset trading that precisely match high-quality green assets with market demands, achieving dual growth in capital and environmental value. MEX will also employ blockchain and AI technologies to standardize and transparently manage various green products, ensuring a seamless trading experience for users while providing high-quality net-zero solutions.
