MaChT

MaChT – Materials Science and Chemical Technology – is a seven year old student association which focuses on engineering students in the fields of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science at the faculty of Engineering at Gent University. MaChT aims to provide information to students, informally introduce them to potential new employers and stimulate contact between students of different ages and the departments. The activities hence have a two-fold goal: we want students to share their experiences with each other – not limited to purely academic experiences – and bring companies and students closer together. Our most iconic activities are the Cocktail Party and the New Year’s Reception, each tailored to one goal. The Cocktail Party allows students to get to know one another while having a good time, and the New Year’s Reception is a more serious event where students have a chance to meet representatives of MaChT’s major sponsors and engage in informal talks. Beside these two events, there are many more smaller activities throughout the year, which aim to strengthen friendships and improve collaboration between the students of different majors and years.
