MACRO - Mechatronics, Control, and Robotics Research Group at the Federal University of Minas Gerais

The Mechatronics, Control and Robotics (MACRO) Research Group, at the Departments of Electronic Engineering and Electrical Engineering of UFMG, was founded in 2014 by professors Bruno Vilhena Adorno, Guilherme Vianna Raffo, and Luciano Cunha de Araújo Pimenta. The MACRO Group currently consists of a multidisciplinary team comprising seven professors, the coheads Guilherme Vianna Raffo and Luciano Cunha de Araújo Pimenta, along with professors Armando Alves Neto, Bruno Vilhena Adorno, Gustavo Medeiros Freitas, Janier Arias Garcia, and Vinícius Mariano Gonçalves. The MACRO Group develops research activities encompassing both theoretical and applied aspects within the following fields: a) conception and design of mechatronic systems, with a primary focus on innovative robot design; b) control of electromechanical systems, involving theoretical and applied research in the control of unmanned aerial vehicles, manipulator robots, cooperative systems, among others; c) robotics, including aerial robotics, mobile robotics, cooperative robotics, robotic manipulators, assistance robotics, multi-robot systems, swarm robotics, and human-robot interaction.
