Making A Difference by Being The Difference (MAD by BTD)

Making a Difference (MAD) is a youth-driven, grassroots organization committed to fostering sustainable social and environmental transformation in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. Founded on the principle that true change begins from within, MAD empowers individuals—especially young people—to be the difference in their communities through active participation, awareness, and civic engagement. Since its inception (2011), MAD has worked tirelessly to bridge the gap between policy and practice by mobilizing volunteers for real-world impact. Whether it's cleaning rivers, restoring green spaces, educating communities, or influencing public behavior through campaigns, MAD believes in hands-on, visible action. We operate through a decentralized, volunteer-led model where decision-making is inclusive, action is swift, and accountability is paramount. Over the years, our work has touched thousands of lives—through environmental clean-up drives, waste management initiatives, tree plantations, educational workshops, and civic awareness campaigns.
