An experienced content creator across online and print media, Mads is passionate about authentic storytelling, female leadership and backing outstanding founders building world-class companies. An early stage investor and advisor with Flying Fox Ventures, Startmate and Blackbird Giants, Mads is also an award-winning edtech entrepreneur.
Mads started her career as a journalist, completing a cadetship with News Corp then moving from PBL to ACP and Channel Nine, and continues to tell stories across media as a presenter, keynote speaker, writer, MC and cohost of the top-rating Human Cogs podcast. She's also a Startmate Media Fellow 2022.
In 2019, Mads founded career education and employability skills edtech startup Future Amp, supported by leading industries, David Gonski's national Future Minds Accelerator and The University of Melbourne's Innovated fund. She remains a major Shareholder.
In 2016, she founded and was CEO (2016-2022) of award-winning career education company girledworld, which worked with 100’s of outstanding STEM, startup and tech business mentors, state governments and global businesses to upskill 40,000 young women for the industries and jobs of tomorrow.
Committed to growing skills and capabilities in both entrepreneurship and intrapreneurship and using structured problem solving to drive innovation, Mads has extensive experience in corporate innovation and is qualified in Design Thinking and Lean Startup methodologies with Stanford University, IDEO, Startup Sprint, The University of Melbourne, Wade Institute and Inventium.
Mads has designed innovation, startup, future of work and STEM engagement projects in partnership with governments, universities, Telstra, Atlassian, Microsoft, Virgin, ANZ and more.
Mads received the 2020 University of Melbourne Faculty of Business and Economics Leadership Award, Victorian 2019 Tech Diversity Award, and is a graduate of Melbourne Business School's Master of Entrepreneurship and Launch Vic’s VC Catalyst.
