Life is a journey, a voyage to discovery. For many of our parents that was a real and lived experience. They embarked on a journey to an unknown country and a new life, arriving in Canada with their suitcases full of hopes and dreams.
Now that they are older, life is presenting them with new challenges, and it is presenting us with the opportunity to give back.
We are Magellan Community Foundation, a non-for-profit and registered charity that supports the core work of Magellan Community Charities in developing a state-of-the-art-seniors centre in Toronto that will provide exceptional care and support for Portuguese-speaking seniors. It will be the first seniors’ centre of its kind in the GTA, offering culturally sensitive care. The Magellan Centre will ensure that seniors receive the highest quality care in familiar and reassuring surroundings.
