MAGIC Lab

The MAGIC Lab is an interdisciplinary research group that studies human behavior and cognition through the lens of magic. Led by Dr Gustav Kuhn, our team of psychologists, neuroscientists, and magicians uses experimental methods to investigate topics like perception, deception, and the psychology of magical beliefs. By bringing together science and the real-world knowledge of magicians, we aim to bridge gaps in understanding human nature. Our research has applications for fields ranging from psychology to human-computer interaction. The MAGIC Lab encourages an integrative approach to studying the mind through controlled experiments, neuroimaging, natural observation, and other innovative methodologies.
