Magnetite is a retrofit double glazing business that specialises in acoustic and thermal insulation for existing windows. The company was established in 1998 by Ben & Adrian Lafleur, Australian-born Canadians who saw the need to improve Australia's single-glazed windows.
Based on an original design by energy physicist Kenneth Foster at the MIT Centre for Innovation in Boston, the Lafleur brothers adapted their unique solution to Australian conditions. They also added complementary products to further enhance performance, like Solartite (tinting), Soundtite (secondary aluminium windows) as well as weather & acoustic seals to deliver the best possible solution for improving the level of comfort in homes or commercial buildings.
