Makansutra is a Singapore company with an interest in food culture. To quote Bill Bufford on food: “It is identity, and culture and history. It is science and nature, and botany. It is earth. It is serious, and not.” One can make sense of this world by studying and understanding food, particularly the street food culture. We believe it is the root of all culinary knowledge, the best and most genuine reflection of human culture and social organisation. Hence, it is Makansutra’s philosophy to preserve this aspect of the gastronomical world and break the notion of food as just for consumption through sharing and celebrating all aspects of culinary kingdom with our food guides, online content, eateries, specialised events, projects and TV shows.
