Maker e.V.

The Maker Association combines the joint efforts of C³ Chemnitzer Event Organisation GmbH, Kreatives Chemnitz e. V. and the Industrial Association of Saxony 1828 e. V. to promote the technical creativity and interest of young generations. The association develops offers for easy-access to the creative use of technology and crafts, which can be used in schools all year round. As an annual highlight, the Maker Association organises the two major events makers united and School Days. Many Maker Spaces we support throughout Saxony, complement and add to promoting creative STEAM related practices. The maker scene combines tinkering with technical solutions with the know-how of professional actors and aims to promote interest in the STEAM subjects (mathematics, computer science, natural sciences and technology) in exchange with arts and traditional craft. The Maker Association provides a base, a platform, local and international networks and exchange. In Chemnitz there is also a particular focus on creativity, so the term C-STEAM has emerged.
