The Nigeria Malaria and Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) Youth Corps is a youth-led organization dedicated to ending malaria and NTDs in Nigeria. With over 500 members across Nigeria's 36 states. The Youth Corps leverage digital innovations, social media, and community-based activities to drive advocacy for malaria, NTDs, and universal health coverage (UHC) at community, state, and national levels.
The Youth Corps is established in 2024 by the African Leaders Malaria Alliance (ALMA).
We are a social movement of passionate young Nigerians across the 36 states, united in the fight against malaria and NTDs!
We believe young people have the power to make a difference. That's why we champion advocacy, communication, innovation, and community efforts to:
End malaria and NTDs in Nigeria
Improve child health outcomes
Advance healthcare system strengthening
Inspired by the National Malaria Youth Corps Model of Alma.
We work alongside the National Malaria Control Programme (NMCP) and the NTDs program to:
- Advise on integrating youth voices in national advocacy efforts for malaria, NTDs control, and universal health coverage.
- Serve as ambassadors to local governments and youth groups, promoting malaria and NTDs awareness and action plans.
- Support the NMCP and NTDs in promoting impactful advocacy campaigns.
- Engage in national youth forums on health, sharing youth perspectives and solutions.
Organize sessions that empower young people to champion health initiatives.
Participate in national campaigns to raise awareness about malaria, NTDs, and universal health coverage.
