My Mom (Mrs. Bhavani Shetty) passion was to cook and serve people with good food and the culture & authenticity of our ancestors worked as "Cherry on the Cake" The name "Malgudi" came in our mind because- we always admired the simplicity of concept of R K Narayan's series- Malgudi. There is "No Drama", No Dazzle" only Simplicity and Authenticity. We learned by doing. We were constantly adapting to the needs that arose. At the beginning we were in survival mode, which was a rush, but when that wore off I started to feel the stress of it. It was hard until we realized that we could view things from another angle, that we are the one in charge of fixing the problems. We focus on keeping the morale up and keeping the concept going, and above all, We have to stay true to our story — our original intentions for the business. Our vision at its roots was about people, conviviality and good humour and serving them with authentic taste of South India.
