Maloba Consulting was founded with a clear vision in mind: to lift nations out of poverty through innovation. The company was born from a place of great empathy toward the African continent. With the understanding that innovation and entrepreneurship are probably the most effective tools Africans need to emancipate themselves. Our founder & CEO got inspired by a book called: “The prosperity paradox: How to lift nations out of poverty through innovation”. The paradox refers to the observation that traditional approaches to poverty reduction, such as foreign aid and micro-finance, have not been effective in creating sustained economic growth and prosperity in developing countries. These approaches often focus on addressing immediate needs, such as providing food or medicine, without creating the conditions necessary for sustained economic growth. In contrast, the authors argue that market-creating innovations that enable new markets to emerge and flourish are key to creating sustainable economic growth and lifting people out of poverty. The paradox lies in the fact that the most effective way to reduce poverty in the long run may not be by directly addressing poverty itself, but rather by creating the conditions for economic growth and prosperity.
