The Department of Management at the University of Dhaka, established in 1970 under the Faculty of Commerce, builds on a legacy initiated in 1922-23 shortly after the university's founding. Nestled within the Business Studies Building amid lush surroundings, the department strives to be a premier center for management education in Bangladesh and Asia. Offering diverse programs—BBA, MBA, Executive MBA, M.Phil, Ph.D., and DBA, as well as specialized options like the Master of Professional Human Resource Management (MPHRM)—the Department integrates modern, career-focused education to prepare graduates for the demands of an evolving global market. With a vibrant student body of 2,500 across programs and 30 researchers pursuing advanced degrees, the department has produced nearly 50,000 graduates, many of whom hold prominent roles in corporate leadership or own major enterprises. The Department’s facilities include six classrooms, a shared exam hall, a computer lab with 33 workstations, and 26 faculty offices. Its academic staff of 31 includes faculty members who serve as Vice-Chancellors and Treasurers at public universities and others pursuing doctoral research in Canada and the UK. Many faculty hold advanced international degrees, contributing to a robust teaching and research environment, and represent the university at global seminars and conferences.
