To be a pioneer you need dogged determination, meticulous planning and creativity galore to bring your vision to life. The Swan River Colony’s first Surveyor General, John Septimus Roe, had them in abundance when he staked out ‘Location L’ on the banks of the Upper Swan in 1829 and set about transforming virgin bush into a vineyard. Nearly 200 years later, ‘Location L’ is now Mandoon Estate and single-mindedness, creativity and attention to detail are on display everywhere. We are a small village of makers, doers and
delighters that strive for excellence in handcrafted wine, beer, cider, food, art or music. In an era when everything is homogenous and mass produced, our winemakers, brewers and chefs insist on making everything from scratch. Like Septimus, we’ve done some rather clever planning in pioneering a venue that makes everyone feel welcome. Mandoon Estate is home to a Cellar Door, Brewery, Fine Dining Restaurant, Beer Garden, Function Centre, Art Gallery and Boutique Accommodation.
