Maneico

We founded Maneico because we wanted to create an effective repellent that would both reduce the impact of mosquitoes and provide a sustainable alternative to current solutions. Maneico is a novel mosquito repellent using mangrove leaf extract, which peer-reviewed research has shown is effective against mosquitoe species worldwide. Our repellent is also non-toxic and made from natural ingredients, giving consumers the opportunity to feel good about their choice. Sustainability and cost-effectiveness are woven throughout our venture, and we aim to manufacture our product on-site with local materials as much as possible. Maneico was founded by students as part of a project for McGill Biodesign, and it has only grown from there. Last year, we competed in the final round of the Dobson Cup startup funding competition and participated in the TechAccel program for startups, both hosted by the Dobson Centre for Entrepreneurship at McGill University. Over the summer, we were accepted into and participated in the X-1 Accelerator, also hosted by the Dobson Centre.
