Incorporated in 2006 as an independent organization after 17 years of partnership with the North American Schering-Plough, Mantecorp is one of the protagonists of the national pharmaceutical sector, included amongst the largest laboratories of the Country. To attain such objective, the company has on its side the knowledge accumulated alongside the one that consolidated itself as one of the most successful joint-ventures of the sector in Brazil.
Mantecorp is commanded by the entrepreneur Gian Enrico Mantegazza, one of the leaders in representing international brands within the pharmaceutical market of the Country and to whom was entrusted, in 1989, the management of the Indústria Química e Farmacêutica Schering-Plough Ltda, which became research and development, industrial quality and relationship with society benchmark, having conquered the leadership in many segments, such as the high complexity medications, anti-flu medicines, respiratory medicines, corticoids and dermatologic medicines.
With 300 thousand square meters of total area and 50 thousand square meters of industrial facilities, Mantecorp's manufacturing facility, in Rio de Janeiro, is considered one of the most modern of the pharmaceutical sector. From its facilities, approximately 100 million units of products are produced annually.
The incorporation restructuring of Schering-Plough originated the holding Mantecorp Participações S.A., which comprises the following companies: Mantecorp Indústria Química e Farmacêutica Ltda, Mantecorp Logística, Distribuição e Comércio S/A and the Brainfarma Indústria Química e Farmacêutica Ltda.
