¿De dónde nace Mantua?
En febrero de 2007 se produjo un descubrimiento arqueológico hecho en el pueblo de Valdaro, en las afueras de Mantua, que capturó rápidamente la atención y la imaginación de los científicos y los románticos de todo el mundo. Un par de cadáveres del Neolítico fueron encontrados enterrados juntos, enredados uno frente al otro, lo que provocó referencias de Shakespeare en abundancia.
Esto sólo fue reforzada por el hecho de que Mantua, que se encuentra cerca de este lugar, fuese el lugar de exilio de Romeo, modelo icónico para cuentos de romance y tragedia. Hoy en día, todavía permanecen juntos, en una exposición.
