Founded in 2021, MAPS Israel is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to develop in Israel research and educational programs with psychedelics that are legal, safe, medically and culturally informed. MAPS Israel cooperates with MAPS (The Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies), a non-profit American organization that was founded in 1986.
Maps Israel focuses on promoting and supporting new, groundbreaking treatments for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), treatment resistant depression (TRD), eating disorders, and other medical indications. In addition, MAPS Israel supports the promotion of MDMA assisted psychotherapy training program for therapists.
MAPS Israel is currently at the forefront of advancing research on the combined impact of psychotherapy and psychedelics. These studies are conducted in close collaboration with the Israeli Ministry of Health and mental health hospitals.
