Marine Biotechnology in North Carolina (MARBIONC) is an R&D-based biotechnology accelerator based at the University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW) that discovers, develops and markets new products and technologies derived from the sea. Situated directly on the Intracoastal Waterway in Wilmington, N.C., the MARBIONC Building complements the Center for Marine Science, Marine Science Operations Facility, and the Shellfish Research Hatchery.
MARBIONC is one of the most advanced biotechnology research centers on the East Coast, offering flexible research space with adjacent office facilities for established firms, entrepreneurial start-ups, government agencies and universities focusing on biotechnology, analytical and environmental sciences, and early–to-late–stage pharmaceutical research and development.
