MARCEL architecten

MARCEL architects is a collaboration between Koen Schoukens (°1983) and Carmine Van der Linden (°1992), based in Ghent. A young dynamic architectural office with a focus on projects of various scales. We’ve built years of experience at Eugeen Liebaut, LOW Architecten, DBLV architecten and Dierendonckblancke architects where we worked on complex projects of large scale. Our practice is focused on creating buildings, places and moments which have a distinct and meaningful character. We put the emphasis on designing and developing the right approach to the requested program and a first-principles approach to sustainability. Through systematic and careful analysis of each context and design question, we look for a clear proposal that through exchange and close collaboration with clients, professional consultants develops into a supported project and to ensure the ambitions of projects are met and exceeded. We try to realize the maximum through a minimum of interventions and to search for the limits in terms of material choices and detailing. By means of small-scale but well-considered interventions we try to make the difference.
