Marfa Invitational's interdisciplinary programming advances innovation and exploration across creative borders. Supporting both traditional Contemporary Art practices and New Genre platforms alike- from Painting, Sculpture, and Textiles, to Digital Media, Sound, and Movement. As well as nurturing the cross-pollination of medium and genre through the collaborative process among visionaries.
Transcending what we have come to understand as the traditional institutional model and norm - Marfa Invitational is grounded in the credence that sensory immersion via Contemporary Art, and all its forms, heightens the 'human experience'. Expanding one's 'umwelt'- an individual's interaction with the surrounding world. Deepening our relationship to and with Art, the landscape which surrounds us, and each other.
