MEGA story started in 2004, when raised the necessity of available engineering capacity within the DAMEN Group, and Schelde Naval Shipbuilding took the decision to set up a new engineering company in Galati, within the Damen Shipyard area, named MARINE ENGINEERING Galati, well known as MEGA.
The first team - six hull and piping engineers - started in April 2004 and was followed by other small teams at every five – six months. In the next four years MEGA has grown in size, but also in performance.
Following the DAMEN Group Top Management decision, in July 2008 MEGA took over almost half of the engineers of the Engineering Department of DAMEN Galati Shipyard and reached up to 65 employees.
Nowadays, MEGA is a modern engineering company specialized in engineering for shipbuilding, mainly providing detailed engineering packages for mechanical, structure, arrangements and outfitting, FEM, ILS and Data Engineering Support activities, performing also inclining tests, with almost 200 people, from which more than 90% are direct structure & steel outfitting or mechanical/ electrical/ HVAC engineers, Project Managers, Project Coordinators and Team Leaders, working in modern offices spaces, in 2 modern office buildings.
