At the start of December of 2022, Cross filtration became part of a family owned company, Markert Group, from Germany. Markert is one of the leading European filter press cloth producers with four generations of experience in one of the largest filtration markets in the world. The Cross family has been supplying world-class filter press cloth and wet filtration solutions for clients for over 40 years. In the late 1970s, partners Peter Cross and Barry Hibble founded one of the very first filter press cloth companies in Moravia, New York. As industry pioneers and innovators, the pair made their mark on the world of filtration and filter media by creating high-quality, custom-designed, hand-crafted filter press cloth. Later, Peter’s daughter Joanne Cross recreated the company after the original partners moved on. Having grown up with the original company, she gained valuable experience in every aspect of the business. When she created her own company, Cross Filtration, she built on the original legacy of leadership, innovation, and high-quality craftsmanship, while maintaining the company’s roots in Moravia, New York.
