As an institute at a young, non-elitist, open and inclusive university in Germany we combine competences in the fields of marketing, digital marketing, brand management and consumer behavior. We focus on relevant topics from these fields taking into account current technological developments (e.g., big data, artificial intelligence). In our research projects, we closely cooperate with companies ranging from start-ups to international corporations. We strive to find solutions to practically relevant problems by rigorously applying state-of-the-art research methods. In our teaching, we place particular emphasis on practical relevance and at the same time promote innovative concepts and methods for solving current problems in a digital world. We want to enable our students to apply knowledge in different contexts, to critically reflect their own solutions, as well as to convincingly present and advocate solutions in discussions. Furthermore, the markstones Institute of Marketing, Branding & Technology offers consulting services in marketing and brand management for companies and institutions. Using innovative methods and based on the latest scientific findings, we support our partners in solving their strategic and operational problems. As a university-based institute with its finger on the pulse of science, our consulting is characterized not only by innovative solutions, but also by a high degree of reliability
