Maroon Arts & Culture was founded by theatre practitioner and educator Lindsay A. Jenkins on Juneteenth 2019. Our mission is to educate and empower through arts education and cultural programming. As we develop our artistic and educational offerings, we hope to achieve the following:
Make arts and culture accessible.
Celebrate cultures that have been historically underrepresented.
Curate events that resonate with a diverse patronage.
Cultivate and present new works with emphasis on underrepresented communities.
Support independent artists and content creators.
Produce work by established artists, especially those who are underproduced.
Community driven events that celebrate cultural diversity.
Create digital content that can be shared and archived.
Support kids and teens by providing arts and culture programming, content and educational opportunities.
