Marperita is an integrated marine and transport services company with headquarters in Mozambique. We provide a diverse range of shipping and port related services throughout Southern Africa The Company was founded by Capt. Pandelis Sanianos in 1952 to provide marine surveying, stevedoring, ship agency and chartering services in central Mozambique. Born in Athens in 1917 to Greek parents, Capt. Sanianos graduated from the Lloyds Maritime Academy in London, before joining the Royal Hellenic Navy in 1939. Capt. Sanianos retired from active service in 1951 as a Rear Admiral with several military condecorations. After arriving in Beira in 1951, he founded Marperita, initially to provide marine surveying services. Marperita rapidly became the leading shipping services company in Beira and through the years has expanded operations to several international markets in Africa, Europe and the Middle East. Marperita remains a family-controlled company, with a service-oriented culture, and is committed to providing Principals with first class Agency, Consulting and 4PL logistics services across Southern Africa.
