Founded in 2016 Mary Joan is designed by Tabita van der Merwe in the creative hub of Cape Town. Mary Joan focuses on classic designs and simplicity, putting emphasis on fabric, cut and construction. The name Mary Joan is inspired by Mary Cotterrell and Margaret Joan Murray, Tabita’s Grandmothers, who have inspired and motivated her to pursue her creative career choices and timeless design aesthetic. All Garments are made locally as local job creation is extremely important to the Mary Joan Brand.
