Kids at Heart is a non profit organization which supports foster, adoptive and kinship families in Larimer County. Kids at Heart was started in 2002 by Heart of the Rockies Christian Church after the congregation shared in the experiences of one family going through the foster to adoption process. Many unmet needs of the foster, adoptive and kinship community were discovered and Kids at Heart was formed to try to meet some of these needs for these families. Kids at Heart offers support to ALL foster, adoptive and kinship families in the belief that these families serve on behalf of and for the well being of the entire community. Kids at Heart continues to expand as a community-based organization providing support in a variety of ways to these families, regardless of their religious preference. Kids at Heart is not viewed as an evangelistic tool; rather it is a program that allows the love of Christ to work through the care and compassion of each volunteer and staff member.
Mission Statement
Kids at Heart is a not-for-profit program helping foster, adoptive and kinship families and the children in their care. We mobilize volunteers to provide direct support to families and assist children through life transitions. We empower community and faith based groups to take action in the belief that every child deserves a safe and stable home.
