Maryvale is Los Angeles County’s oldest children’s charity, with a legacy of compassionate service dating back to 1856. Founded by the Daughters of Charity, Maryvale began as Los Angeles’ first orphanage and has grown into a leading nonprofit dedicated to transforming the lives of vulnerable children and families across the San Gabriel Valley. With campuses in Rosemead, Duarte, and South El Monte, Maryvale’s programs are designed to meet the region’s most urgent needs—offering trauma-informed early childhood education, outpatient mental health and substance use treatment, wraparound treatment, and temporary housing for unhoused women and children.
