María Bouvier is a Uruguayan label born out of the passion for color, for the environment and for fashion. We work with certified organic cotton that is produced in fair ways, we receive those textiles undyed and colors them using natural materials such as onion skin, hibiscus flowers, roses, avocado stones, acacia flowers, turmeric, different wood barks and so much more.Then, we develop each piece locally in our sewing studio or working jointly with others.
Natural dyeing is a handcrafted technique that help us create unique pieces, we like to think this give soul to each product we make. Learning about it was the beginning and it showed us the way to do things differently, according to our values.
