MaskCare

With 10 million surgical face masks being thrown in Malaysia every day, MaskCare was founded under the McKinsey Youth Leadership Academy (YLA) to combat plastic pollution. As a social enterprise, we aim to provide wider access of reusable face masks to the underprivileged community, especially in the target area where COVID-19 is rampantly infectious. Using sustainable and biodegradable materials, masks produced by MaskCare are made by recruiting B40 mothers to sew, generating job opportunities to them. With our unique business model combined with brand personalisation and CSR Initiaitves, we partnered with corporations such as KPMG, MoneyLion, Haskell and Innovedge to establish CSR initiatives to support our community. In just 8 weeks of operations, MaskCare has successfully generated ~RM15,000 revenue, donating ~500 reusable face masks under our “Buy 1, Donate 1” campaign to orphanage homes and refugee homes in Selangor, a state that is heavily affected by Covid-19 cases.
