Maskína var stofnuð árið 2010 af dr. Þorláki Karlssyni og Þóru Ásgeirsdóttur.
Í upphafi árs 2022 rann MMR, sem stofnað var árið 2006 af Ólafi Þór Gylfasyni, undir hatt Maskínu. Með sameiningunni varð til eitt öflugasta rannsóknarfyrirtæki landsins.

Maskína was founded in 2010 by dr. Þorlákur Karlsson and Þóra Ásgeirsdóttir. Both have decades of research experience.
At Maskína, we employ various methods of data collection, both quantitative and qualitative. We select research methods which best suit the goals of our clients, whether it is a telephone survey, web survey, focus groups, in-depth interviews or bulletin boards, amongst many other methods. Regardless of the method used, our main focus is to provide reliable, informative and useful results.
