Master Equipment Ltd (MEL) was originally founded by directors Hammed Torkaneh and Mehdi Shahbazpour in 2011. Hammed who has over 20 years of experience in design and manufacturing of wire and tube products for retail and logistics industry, saw an opportunity in the market after the demise of a well-known New Zealand company called Faulkner Collins Ltd. He was soon joined by Mehdi who has a PhD in Industrial Engineering to assist with the expansion of the business. Between them, the pair have a wealth of engineering knowledge and management experience, which has set the foundation for a great company. They have built a great team of designers, sales and marketing staff, and metal fabricators who have helped turn MEL into one of New Zealand’s leading providers of design, manufacturing and maintenance services to the logistics and retail industries. Essential to the success of the company has been the establishment of strategic exclusive supplier agreements with two of the largest manufacturers of logistics and retail equipment in the world, Cowin Global and Kailiou Commercial Equipment. Both companies are known in their respective industries for high quality precision manufacturing. Combining MEL’s local expertise and capabilities with these strategic partners, MEL is able to provide a wide and varied range of solutions from 3D design and prototyping to full scale mass production of high quality products for a wide range of clients. Some of these clients are household names in NZ business such as, NZ Post, Mainfreight, NZ Couriers, Air NZ and Pak’nSave just to name a few. Each product is designed to meet the client’s requirements without compromising Health and Safety standards and ensures optimal safety and efficiency for our clients across their business units.
