Maternity Action is the UK’s leading charity committed to ending inequality and improving the health and well-being of pregnant women, partners and young children – from conception through to the child’s early years.
Our vision is to achieve gender equality, freedom from all forms of discrimination and optimal health for pregnant women, new mothers and their families.
Our services:
• We provide online information and telephone advice on maternity rights at work to pregnant women, new mothers and their partners. We answer 2,500 calls each year and parents view our online information sheets over 50,000 times each month.
• We provide advice and support to asylum seekers, refugees and other vulnerable migrant women to enable them to obtain essential maternity care.
• We provide information, training and advice to voluntary organisations, midwives and other professionals to help them to better support pregnant women and new mothers to exercise their rights.
We campaign to bring an end to pregnancy discrimination in the workplace and to improve legal protection for all pregnant women, new mothers and their families.
