About MATESA-KNUST
MATESA (mah-tee-sah) is an association under the Ghana Engineering Students’ Association (GESA), KNUST-Kumasi. Every Materials Engineering Student and every Metallurgical Engineering Student is an automatic member of MATESA. All Materials Engineering Alumni and Metallurgical Engineering Alumni are deemed eligible to be members of the association. AIMS OF MATESA _______________________________________________________________________________ 1. Package, promote, and encourage Materials Engineering and Metallurgical Engineering education through symposiums, Industrial trips, conference, exchange programmes and also to carry out our role in the national and technological development as well as the world of science and inventions. 2. Provision of assistance to both the department and its members when the need arises and also the contribution of our quota to GESA. 3. To provide the students with the platform to obtain practical knowledge concerning the programme. 4. To enhance student-lecturer relationship in order to facilitate the teaching and learning process. 5. Finally to protect the interest of the student body and to serve as the mouth piece for the Students of Materials Engineering and Metallurgical Engineering.
