While education standards are high in Singapore, not every child receives the same learning opportunities outside the classroom. In structural subjects like mathematics and science, an early disadvantage can lead to compounded difficulties in later years.
This spurred us to create Mathemate in the belief that all students should have an equal opportunity to learn.
Mathemate is a social learning network that connects students to all things math. We aim to be the easiest place to ask and check existing content from the web. We organize students and their math syllabus so they can find, collect and share the information most valuable to them.
Mathemate is an educational technology company based in Singapore. Our prototype was ready in Sep 2017, and beta testing was conducted thereafter. Mathemate will be (was) officially launched with general availability in Q2 2018.
“Focus on Collaboration, instead of Competition”
Unlike marketplace Q&A sites, we aim to inspire students to share and explore knowledge in a collaborative way. The platform combines the best strategies of social networks, machine learning and gaming in an effort to encourage students to engage in the online community - by asking questions and answering those of other students.
The site is dedicated to Primary (6 to 12 yo) and Secondary (13-17 yo) students, their parents and educators. Mathemate runs a subscription based model with paid premium content tailored for each country of operation. Schools can also engage us for a customised SaaS platform.
By 2022 our users will come from over 15 countries with a total community of 10 million users monthly. Mathemate currently operates as a web application, and will be available as an iOS and Android app by end 2018.
