Official Mathematics society at the University of Birmingham, welcoming maths and non-maths students alike!
Hosting careers events like skills workshops, careers fairs and Masters/PhD information events, we aim to support our members as they transition from further education to the workplace.
Additionally, we have highly decorated netball and football team, competing against other societies at the University, with our netball team having recently made the champions league!
We aim to run social events at least every 2 weeks, including our Winter formal, annual Spring Ball (with over 200 attendees) and a trip abroad!
Mathsoc are renowned for the family scheme, partnering a group of 10+ first years into families with 2 older year ‘parents’. Undergraduates, postgraduates and lecturers alike agree that this scheme helps form key friendships between students as they form strong support networks.
This year, we have partnered with St. Basil’s and will be running bake sales and the long running staff-student netball and football matches in hopes of raising money for a good cause.
