Matteo Ferran Structural Engineers, PLLC is a small, woman-owned structural engineering firm located in historic Old Town Alexandria, Virginia. Our office, housed in a rehabilitated 19th-century warehouse, embodies our commitment to creating energized and revitalized environments for living and working. We believe that a holistic view with a deep focus on details leads to meaningful and successful designs. We are dedicated to preserving architectural resources while creatively and thoughtfully designing new and durable forms. Our work combines a thorough understanding of the built environment with a rigorous application of current codes and safety standards, bridging the gap between historic systems and cutting-edge technologies. As preservation engineers, our team is fully conversant in the Secretary of the Interior's Standards as well as international standards such as the Venice Charter and other texts adopted by the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS). We apply our technical expertise to sustain and enhance our precious architectural heritage, adhering to best practices in today’s conservation efforts.
