Mavin Ventures is a Growth Equity firm that invests in companies based in the Mid-Atlantic region that have market leading innovative technology and a proven business model that have the potential to scale efficiently.
We were founded in 2016 by serial entrepreneurs and experienced operators that wanted to use their experience, knowledge, and unique skill sets to assist the next wave of companies and founders. Ultimately, we want to provide something that we believe is lacking in the region - "smart growth capital" from entrepreneurs/operators (not just finance geeks) that have already scaled companies and have been through the wringer many times and have learned from their mistakes.
We are not a "fund" and we are not your typical venture capital or private equity firm. We are very selective. We don't just throw darts and hope 1 out of 10 is a home-run. We are perfectly happy with a triple! We also don't believe in the "go for broke" strategy that most firms employ. We focus on cash flow and "smart" growth. We are currently only investing in a few companies per year. This allows us to maintain focus and truly add value. We help our companies on a daily basis...not just at Board level.
