Mission: To protect the public through quality registered nursing regulation.
We establish and maintain a registration process that ensures those who practice as registered nurses or graduate nurses are qualified and competent. We set and maintain nursing practice standards that registered nurses must meet every day to ensure safe, competent and ethical registered nursing care. We approve nursing education programs to ensure students get the education they need to perform the competencies of a registered nurse. We receive and investigate complaints about the nursing practice and conduct of registered nurses and determine appropriate remedial or disciplinary actions as required.
The College has been the professional regulatory body for registered nurses in Manitoba since 1913. The Registered Nurses Act and Regulations set out our responsibilities.
