MC Square, originally incorporated in 1988 as Callander Manager, began its journey as a Chapter 15 Management Company. For two decades, the company diligently managed and distributed an FCP UCITS fund. In 2015, André Lecoq recognized the opportunity to establish an independent ManCo in Luxembourg.
Today, MC Square stands as a Luxembourg “SuperManCo,” authorized under Chapter 15 of the Law of 17 December 2010 (UCITS) and the Law of 12 July 2013 (AIFM), and extends to managing a diverse range of investment vehicles, including Hedge Funds, Private Equity, Real Estate, Private Debt, Fund of Funds, Fixed Income, Listed Equity, and Money Market, alongside more conventional UCITS offerings.
The Senior leadership team boasts a collective experience of +200 years, with each member having previously contributed to major banking groups and/or Management Companies across various business lines. Currently, MC Square includes approximately 42 people, with 41 based in Luxembourg and one in Chicago, from 13 different nationalities, maintaining an almost perfect gender balance. Their combined expertise ensures a robust and reliable capability. Over the past five years, MC Square has witnessed remarkable growth, fueled by traction from its business pipeline. The company now oversees more than 100 distinct sub-funds, accounting for approximately €10 billion in Assets under Management (AUM).
