Welcome to the Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics as part of the School of Biomedical Sciences in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at McGill University! We are a diverse department committed to teaching and research in a multidisciplinary environment.
We strive to offer trainees at the undergraduate, graduate, and postdoctoral levels exceptional instruction in Pharmacology. We provide opportunities at all levels to interact with faculty and engage in research and scientific communication. We offer specific mentoring opportunities in the WIN4Science Mentoring Program and the Melville Mentorship Sessions for women and underrepresented equity groups, respectively. We also offer the opportunity to explore careers in academia, industry, and government in many different disciplines.
The exceptional research done in the Department of Pharmacology & Therapeutics covers a breadth of areas including neuropharmacology, cardiovascular diseases, regenerative medicine, epigenetics, endocrine signaling, toxicology, and microbiology/microbiome. Our faculty has a high success rate of acquiring external funding from government/not-for-profit grants and industry contracts.
