mddl was founded with the goal of advancing scalable, efficient and sustainable middle housing forms within established neighbourhoods and promoting vibrant, walkable communities with more housing options to meet the diverse needs of Canadians. As experienced developers, we had many ideas (too many ideas) about how to take our land development expertise to support a greater ecosystem in building more housing. Amidst the multitude of ideas, two core beliefs guided us: 1. We recognized that land development is historically shrouded in secrecy with little or no central area to find trusted information. We wanted to create transparency and visibility into this process, shedding light on the potential of middle housing for the entire ecosystem. 2. It takes a Community. We are passionate about helping to support people and having them support each other as they embark on their middle housing journey. We recognize that neither of us would have been able to accomplish half of what we have without the amazing and talented people we have had the privilege to work alongside and learn from.
