MDL Nederland ondersteunt op verschillende gebieden drie samenwerkende verenigingen op het gebied van maag-, darm- en leverziekten:
De Nederlandse Vereniging voor Gastro-enterologie (NVGE)
De Nederlandse Vereniging van Maag-Darm-Leverartsen (NVMDL)
De Nederlandse Vereniging voor Hepatologie (NVH)
De NVGE en NVH zijn multidisciplinaire wetenschappelijke verenigingen en richten zich met name op de organisatie van congressen en ondersteuning van onderzoeksinitiatieven.
De NVMDL vertegenwoordigt de (beroeps)belangen van alle MDL-artsen in Nederland, en de artsen welke in opleiding zijn voor dit specialisme.
