Meaningful Coaching is a professional training and coaching company. The premise of the company is that we all have two primary relationships to manage through life - our relationship to ourselves, and our relationship to others. The focus of Meaningful Coaching is to assist others in developing both areas.
This is accomplished through one-on-one coaching, facilitated group events, and consulting on learning program design:
The goal of one-on-one coaching is to partner with clients in a thought-provoking and meaningful process that creates action for clients to their attain goals. Clients are assisted in defining what they want, supported in committing to their goals, and coached in achieving them.
The goal of the learning events is in building one's relationship skills by using two practical skill-building theories of human behavior:
- The theory of Relationship Awareness: Everyone has a set of values they hold that have meaning for them. These values provide a sense of self-worth, assist in communicating and influencing others, but also have the possibility of starting conflict with others. By completing a self-assessment, known as the Strength Deployment Inventory (SDI), and experiencing using this knowledge with others in skill-building events, individuals learn to capitalize on their strengths, and prevent conflict with others.
-The theory of Relational Presence (Speaking Circle®): Inherent in being human is a desire to connect, yet people's greatest fear is public speaking. At a primal level, the fear is so great because we are not merely afraid of being embarrassed, or judged, we are afraid of being rejected from the social group, ostracized and left to defend ourselves all on our own. Those who experience training in Relational Presence learn to regulate their autonomous nervous system and that of those around them so that communications are not compromised by stress - resulting in engaging, impactful and effective public speaking.
