MECOG–CE

Strengthening metropolitan cooperation and governance in central Europe, shortly MECOG - CE, project aims to enhance metropolitan cooperation and governance in partner metropolitan areas (MAs) through sharing best practice and developing specific tools needed. This will increase ability of MAs to tackle global challenges that require integrated approach. Thanks to MECOG-CE project, voice of MAs will be better heard and their needs well addressed. These actions and solutions have high replication potential in other CE regions and impact on reaching EU´s goals in urban development. This project is supported by the Interreg CENTRAL EUROPE Programme with co-financing from the European Regional Development Fund. About the Interreg CENTRAL EUROPE Programme Its mission is to bring regions and cities together beyond borders to find fitting solutions for their citizens in a fair and equal way everywhere. It encourages and supports transnational cooperation to make regions more resilient to common challenges that know no borders and which cannot be solved alone. These challenges include among others economic transition processes, climate change, and the long-term socioeconomic consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic.
