Med&X Association is a physician-led non-governmental organization based in Croatia with the mission of inspiring and shaping the next generation of leaders in medicine and healthcare.
Med&X has two main projects: the annual international Plexus Conference and Med&X Accelerator, an international program for Croatian medical students to accelerate the acquisition of cutting edge clinical and scientific skills at leading biomedical institutions.
The Plexus Conference is an annual international conference held in Croatia, which aims to connect and inspire young biomedical professionals with career paths and advice from leaders in biomedicine, such as Nobel laureates.
Since 2017, our team has organized several similar conferences that have attracted over 2300 participants from 30+ countries and featured talks from 10 Nobel laureates and other leaders in medicine, such as the Chief Medical Officer of Microsoft, Vice President of AstraZeneca, and Chief Scientist of the World Health Organization.
We also offer a unique international program called Med&X Accelerator that allows Croatian medical students to gain invaluable clinical, scientific, and personal experience by spending 1-2 months in a scientific laboratory or in the clinic at leading biomedical institutions worldwide, such as Harvard University and Cleveland Clinic. By students returning to Croatia and transferring this knowledge, we believe the whole the whole medical and broader community will benefit in the long term.
