History
Medco operation in Oman started in January of 2006 with oil production in Karim Fields, a field outsourced by Petroleum Development Oman (PDO).
Through aggressive infill drilling of more than 300 wells and application of secondary recovery, the Company was able to increase more than double the production from 11,000 BOPD to a peak of 22,600 BOPD. These efforts resulted in an extension of the contract for an additional 25 years in 2015.
Medco Oman is part of MedcoEnergi, a leading Southeast Asian integrated energy and natural resources company listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. MedcoEnergi has three key business segments, Oil & Gas, Power and Mining. MedcoEnergi explores for and produces oil and gas primarily in Indonesia and is expanding its presence in the Southeast Asia. The Group operates gas, geothermal and hydro power plants in Indonesia through Medco Power Indonesia and a non-consolidated interest in Amman Mineral Nusa Tenggara which operates a large Indonesian copper and gold mine.
