In 2011 we started MediaCore with the vision that the combination of online video and mobile devices would rapidly transform the future of education. Our idea was simple: to build a mobile platform that would essentially make it possible for every university in the world to build their own Netflix, with their own content. In a nutshell, we provided tools that made it easy for instructors to record lessons, and share them privately with their students.
Over the next 4 years we assembled a formidable team and built a product that won over 20 awards internationally, raised over $6.5M in venture capital, grew significant revenue, and served over 100 of the worlds largest and most prestigious universities including Yale, Brown, Columbia, Penn State and Stanford.
In September of 2015, MediaCore was acquired by Workday, a global leader in financial management and human capital management software.
